The Woman's Resource Center has existed for over fifth teen years and advocates for all students on campus. Some ways the center has advocated for students on campus is by hosting a event like feel good Friday's on the first of every month to invite new members to gain knowledge of the Woman's Resource Center and also have fun doing it with a party on a Friday. Another event is I Am That Girl that hosted her meetings inside the Woman's Resource Center. The Woman's Resource Center encourages students to come and explore their knowledge on feminism and participate what the Woman's Resource Center has to offer. The coordinator of the Woman's Resource Center is Albra wheeler short, brown headed, dresses in a gray suit jacket and black suit pants. She has a master's degree in undergraduate affairs and minor in gender studies affairs. She does any and everything she can possibly do for any student on campus. Goes to her last options to help and if she can not help you she will refer that student to someone she knows can give that student a definite answer. The center opens Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm and when the center closes the center has a 24/7 hot line number for student to call in need of help. The Woman's Resource Center located on the first floor of Schuylkill hall if students plan to venture out and explore the center on campus. Albra wheeler is very much involved in almost everything that goes on in the Woman's Resource Center. The Woman's Resource Center was originally created for woman to have a safe haven place to go to and feel apart of a community and want to make sure woman feel comfort. "Gender based violence disproportionately affects woman, 1 in 4 woman are at risk of being sexually assaulted doing there time at college. Whereas, 1 in 16 men are at risk of sexual violence while attending college" Albra Wheeler. For the reason more woman are faced with sexual assault more than man is why the Woman's Resource Center began being involved more in woman then men and for having that place for woman to go to but is a place for everyone as a whole.

Walking in the Woman's Resource Center its a very tiny room that give you that very comfortable feel as you walk in having a very fresh cool scent feeling calm. The center has a variety of information to the right of the door including business cards with information contacting the coordinator Albra Wheeler and also other info on different contact information. Have arm bands that represent the center and all different kinds of resources to students. Comfy green and grey seating area with other blue desk chairs to accommodate the seating arrangements. Kitchenette located in the corner next to the comfy seating area that's tiny and looks like a tiny house. It has everything you have in a regular kitchen just in a tiny area from refrigerator, popcorn maker, white microwave, stove and red retro toaster. Also has a opening to look out on the horizon of the guest that visit the center. The center has an array of artwork placed around the center. Once interesting artwork that drew attention to me is the grey and black an white sculpture of a woman's body that naked and covered in marble colored paint. This artwork is portraying a woman body and how being sexually assaulted would look as bare with nothing and loss of clothing. Also a rainbow colored poster that says all are welcome defying what the Woman's Resource Center goes for and accept and that is everyone.

A wide range of students often visit the Woman's Resource Center and students really enjoy the space and all the center offers and obtains to. One student says "A comfortable place to go to and be yourself with no one judging you". He enjoys having to go to the center being able to relax and not worrying about anything as if once he goes to the center all worries are gone from memory. Another student say "Welcoming atmosphere". This student likes how the center is very opening and a awesome place to be at.
Also "Activities the center provides is good". This student likes how the Woman's Resource Center has a wide range of activities offering students on campus.
A array of students go to the Center for multiple issues or situations they have and need someone else opinion on or help and can not find the right resources to be able to provide for themselves. For example, a single parent and a student of Bloomsburg University was in need of help to provide diapers for her child but could not come up with the funding to get them. The student then approached Albra Wheeler for help and see if there was any way she could do anything, so Albra searched for ways to help this student. Albra found a sponsor that would provide the student a year supplies of diapers for her child. The sponsor that Albra found really helped this student out. Albra was there for her students and all who needed help and she did not stop looking for something to help this student instead she kept on looking and found something to hold the student over until the students could find her own funding's.
"There will always be a Woman's Resource Center as long as we continue to live in an inequitable society" Albra Wheeler. The center will always exist for the harsh society we all live in today and help provide students with what they need because the world is a very cruel place and can really harm someone if theirs no help in need. The Woman's Resource Center accommodates everyone and student with any help they desire while in college. No matter circumstances the Woman's Resource Center provides for all student to give them hope and not have any worries. Even ever having that desire to want to chill with friends and talk while enjoying some fresh buttery popcorn while watching a movie or playing games with friends it can be done at the Woman's Resource Center. Also the Woman's Resource Center just open up a meditation room for students to go and relax and feel stress free from schooling and big tests coming up so taking that opportunities to relax will calm student nerve and help with any problems. The Woman's Resource Center is there every step of the way.
